1. Laila Shokeir (she/her), Visual Designer at OCASI
Laila brings years of experience working exclusively with civil society and the non-profit sector in Canada and internationally. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Visual Communications from Fine Arts Damascus University. She joined Ocasi in 2022, where she has been working on different design work duties, such as print design, web design, graphic design, digital design, visual design.
Additionally, Laila manages the current design style guide site.

2. Miyuki Fukuma (she/her), UX Design & Web Development Coordinator
Miyuki has spent the last 2 decades designing web-based experiences and interfaces with an emphasis on balancing organizational goals and user needs. She started at OCASI in 2018 as the web designer for what eventually became the SettleNet.org platform, and has since moved on to be involved in redesigns of several of the council’s websites.
She is also a member of OCASI’s internal Accessibility Compliance Working Group where she advocates for the digital accessibility of OCASI’s programs and services.
